An HD-quality film about the holidays is just a great way to pass the evening with popcorn and friends. Yes, there is a lot of flat jokes and not much adequacy in the actions of the characters, but they can raise your spirits.
Noticeably inferior in charm and level of humor to its original, the new comedy from the screenwriters is able to cheer for a while, but it does not even remotely claim the cult status of an ancestor.
For example, Rusty Griswold is the young head of the family. For his loved ones, he decides to repeat the legendary holidays from his own childhood: he intends to go with his wife and children – the shy eldest and the bully younger son – across the country to one of the largest theme parks in America. Alas, everything goes awry: troubles haunt the heroes from the very beginning of the journey, and it becomes clear that it’s time to turn back and go home. However, it is impossible to intimidate a brave father – he is burning with his idea and intends to drive to the park. Why does Griswold want this so much?
